Sunday School classes are held from 9:30-10:15 a.m. unless noted otherwise.

CHILDREN
Sunday classes for children ages 3 through 5th grade are using the new Christian Education curriculum called, "All Things New" from Morehouse Publishing. This curriculum offers a rich mix of age-appropriate activities centered on scripture and Episcopal "basics."

CHILDREN’S CHAPEL

Children’s Chapel is in a new location with a new staff this year, and a renewed emphasis on an age-appropriate Episcopal liturgy for children approximately 5-8 years old. Jessica and Frank Finley will be Chapel leaders, joined by youths Sjobor Hammer, Seth Synovec and Samantha Vosburgh. Together, they will lead children in hymns, prayers, Bible stories, and a children’s sermon – with a few surprises along the way! The children’s services will be held in the newly remodeled Chapel in Room 211 during the first half of the 10:30 service. Children will rejoin their families for Communion during the Peace.

MIDDLE SCHOOL

A new class for Cathedral Middle School Youth begins at 9:15 am in the Sloan Youth Room (210). The theme of the class is “Friendship First” and focuses on building relationships both within the class and in everyday life.

Kathy Chestnut and Amelia Newman teach the class. Both are enthusiastic about middle school youth and plan to include a variety of activities in this class. Amelia teaches Journalism at Washburn Rural Middle School and Kathy has been an active volunteer in the Cathedral’s youth program, serving as nurse on our trips to the Global Village in Arkansas and Pilgrimage to Canterbury, England.

Each student receives a copy of the Friendship First New Testament. This book contains a full translation of the New Testament in everyday language, along with practical tips and articles about building relationships. For more information, contact Cathedral Youth Ministries.

SENIOR HIGH

Youth Forum: 9:15-10 am

A discussion of topics of concern to youth in senior high. The goal is to understand and be able to express how the Episcopal Church approaches matters of faith as they affect everyday life. The earlier (9:15) meeting time is to allow Acolytes and Choristers time to vest for the 10:30 service.

For Upcoming Youth Events, visit their website Here!

For further information, contact Michael Massey or Kathy Slawson at youth@gracecathedraltopeka.org or call the Cathedral office at 235-3457.

ADULTS

The Cathedral regularly offers a range of opportunities for adults to learn and to grow in their faith, including the following:

The Adult Forum meets every Sunday from 9:30-10:15 a.m. in rooms 203-205; a variety of issues and topics having to do with the life of faith are presented and discussed.  The Lectionary Study Group meets at the same time in the Bubb Room to discuss the biblical readings assigned for the day.

Women’s Bible Studies meet on Tuesdays from 6:00-7:00 p.m. and on Fridays from 9:30-10:30 a.m.

Men’s Study Group meets on Thursdays from 7:00-8:00 a.m. (a light breakfast is provided).
